JPbeta. . . . : Mr. Kishio is a member of the Broadcasting Department in middle school. How does the experience of joining the Broadcasting Department affect your choice to become a seiyuu?
岸尾大辅: The first thing to correct is that I joined the Broadcasting Department in high school. But at that time, I didn’t want to join. The high school class teacher was a consultant of the Broadcasting Department. When he heard my self-introduction at the time of enrollment, I felt that I was very suitable for broadcasting. Because of his mysterious vision, I discovered me. So I joined the Broadcasting Department. After all, the class teacher is not good at rejecting it. Then I did a similar narration work in the Broadcasting Department, so it is helpful? But before that, I was interested in the job of seiyuu. I thought about doing seiyuu in the first day, although I just had no idea what to do. Therefore, joining the Broadcasting Department in high school was entirely due to the mistake of the class teacher (laugh). If there is any help, it should be… maybe… yes, yes, it’s because of my own efforts, hahahahaha. I can’t say that it didn’t help at all. It is estimated that it will be about 30% (laugh). In fact, I am not too sure about it (laughs). To say that it is one of the opportunities for seiyuu, you can say so
JPbeta : Mr. Kishio is able to use his impromptu speech to sizzle the atmosphere at many live events. Do you have any intention to learn the skills of impromptu speech?
岸尾大辅: Nothing, no, no. I am very happy to be able to participate in the event, so the mood will be high. Whether it is the audience or the performer, I hope everyone can have a good time, so I will say something interesting. If the impromptu thing is thought of, it is not improvisation, so it is all said on the spot, but it is also smashed when it is overdone. But even if you are defamed, you will still do it again without a long time (laugh)
JPbeta : Mr. Kishio’s voice is very wide. Besides juveniles, there are performances from infants, old people to female characters. Then, do you think that it is interesting to have a male voice to play a woman? What are the interesting places and difficulties?
岸尾大辅: Let’s talk about the difficulty. It’s hard to think that the female character needs to use a higher sound line. I am not too young. It is more and more difficult to make a high voice, so this will be more difficult. If it is a super-high-pitched sound, it will be no problem. It is better for my master, San Yasuo, to play the second, but it will become simple and funny, and will be said to be no good. Therefore, although it is not necessary to use the sound line of Jianhao Er, it is still very difficult to maintain the female character. Whether it is a high pitch or a high voice, it is very difficult. But on the other hand, the interesting thing is that being a male can play a female role. It’s fun to be able to walk through the character’s life. Whether it’s a female character or an animal, a robot, or even a non-human character, this is just what makes seiyuu interesting
JPbeta : There is a lot of anime works that have been adapted into stage plays. If you want Mr. Kishio to perform as a female character, what kind of theme and role do you think is the most interesting?
岸尾大辅: First of all, I am not going to pick up such an offer (laugh). If it is played with my actual age, the 40-year-old woman is fine, but certainly not like this? Are women in their 10s and 20s? This is too strange, right? Appearance will make people feel ashamed, so they will not pick up such an offer. The role of aunt in his 40s can still be considered (laughs). This is it! Aunt role! Play the very noisy Kansai aunt role! It is the kind of Kansai aunt who wears a very exaggerated, hot curly hair and asks if you can eat candy
In fact, Mr. Kishio starred in the “B-project” when the national dragon held the time, not only took a neutral voice, but also used this voice to sing, it is very amazing. The second phase of the animation will be broadcast in January 2019, and I will look forward to his wonderful performance!
