Unbelievable, I was able to come to Shanghai again so soon, and I also had a personal small concert. Although this schedule is also very tense, from the activities of Animate Shanghai store, personal small concerts to today’s (July 7th) Takashimaya summer festival, there are so many enthusiastic friends to participate in these activities, let I am surprised and happy. .
—— So what is the impression of fans in China? .
Yamada. When I was singing “Even…if”, the reaction under the stage was very strong, and there was no such feeling in the past. Because after I created the animated song, I didn’t have much chance to participate in the animation song related activities. I attended the stage event of “Anime Japan 2018” as a guest, and it was “all metal frenzy!” Invisible Victory’s theme songs and promotional images were first publicized, just greeted everyone on the stage and didn’t sing. This is my first time to hold a concert in China, and I also sang the theme song of “Golden Gold”. I did not expect that there will be so many people to support me, let me know the enthusiasm of everyone and the “Golden Gold” Love. Yamada. I like super likes. But the food that is too spicy may not be able to withstand the stomach. Yesterday I turned around in Shanghai, fully integrated into the crowd, and went to some small shops that looked very popular, because it is a relationship on Friday, there are many people. We didn’t go to those high-end restaurants. It was too quiet and too clean. It didn’t make much sense, and I also wanted to see more people and feel the local customs. YamadaIn fact, at that time, I only liked music purely, and I often had Western music and jazz at home. When I was in high school, I formed a band. I started to touch rock. I played the lead singer of the band, bought a guitar, and started trying to compose music myself. However, what I wanted to do at that time was actually the work of a doctor. This was a bit of a relationship with the family. I started thinking about things related to illness, life and death, and I wanted to do some work related to life-saving and life-related work. .
After starting the band event, like this performance, I often go to a small venue like Livehouse to perform. It’s a turning point. The bigger one is the school’s cultural festival, because I also joined the light department, and the animation “Light Girl! ! Like everyone else, I also performed with the members of the Light and Sound Department at the Cultural Festival. At that time, a friend came to see our performance. In this short period, the troubles and unhappiness of the past were all abandoned and completely enjoyed in music. When I was 16 years old, I wrote my first original song and it was an English song. Later, I began to write some Japanese lyrics, and now I am playing the guitar while playing the lyrics. .

Yamada. English is also self-study. I learned it at school, but mainly through the Western music, jazz, country music that I listened to when I was a child. I like language very much, and I often read some words, which is also closely related to my words. .
—— Did you get a Radio CM award when you were in college? .
Yamada. Yes, when I was a junior, I had an advertising-related course at the university. I also said that because I like language, this course is also helpful to me. There is a topic at the seminar. All the student works in the seminar must be attended. The theme is “feeling that cannot be ruled out”. I made a 15-second radio advertisement. After submitting it, I was taken to the “All Japan CM Broadcasting Alliance” (ACC) student advertising competition, but I did not expect to receive the award. .
In fact, when I was in high school, I also went to apply for TBS’s “COUNT DOWN TV”. I have been paying attention to this program in the past. At that time, I tried to take the courage to apply for their selection and cast a lot of tapes. Unfortunately, they were not selected. It was just the time for preparing for the university. Because they were not requisitioned, they thought about going to college and starting to study hard. Then they entered the university. But I didn’t plan to give up my music work. I also joined music-related clubs when I was in college. I also went to Livehouse to continue to participate in some music auditions. .
——Is the experience affecting your current music creation? .
YamadaMy music creation path has continued. I didn’t stop. I picked up the guitar to create music from high school, but it was more like a music to express my feelings. And after receiving some commercial work, or advertising music or movie music or TV drama music, there will be a clear theme and concept, these topics are also very similar to my personal feelings, in a sense I have been continuing to create music, and I have changed myself unconsciously. During my career in music creation, I have gradually felt the mystery and fun of it. Now I am still groping and I will encounter it in the future. To what type of music, what kind of music will be created through my own feelings and understanding, these are unknown to me. But now, when I look back, I still feel that music creation is a very interesting thing. .
——So, when I was just graduated from college, I was still carrying out my “underground music” activity? .
Yamada. Yes, there were 2 mini albums made by myself before. After graduating from college, I performed at the Livehouse in Tokyo until I officially debuted. At that time, I also thought of other places in Japan, such as Osaka’s Livehouse, record store, etc., and wanted to convey my voice and music to more places. .
——What is the opportunity to make your official debut? .
Yamada. When you participate in these underground activities, you will also send your own records to them for sale. Once, I sang at Livehouse, and the music producer who just advertised Shiseido “MAQuillAGE” (Spiritual Makeup) came to see me. The “MAQuillAGE” ad will be replaced with a new ad song as the season changes. The producer asked me, “Would you like to sing this season’s ad song?” I also wanted to be a singer, then I made my debut with my song “My Brand New Eden” as my debut single. .
—— After that, you also created music for the stage play of the troupe “TETRACHROMAT” (four-color viewer), and you also starred in the stage work that was staged in 2016. .
Yamada. After the debut, I started to create a lot of commercial music. The performer of TETRACHROMAT is also a friend who has been taking care of my music producer. I have seen my performance through introduction. I was in the middle of it, hope. I can create music for their stage works. I didn’t have the experience of creating music for the stage in the past. I thought, “Let me do this music, is it ok?” But the other party sincerely hopes that I can join them and create music for them, and I will agree. . The troupe “TETRACHROMAT” now has a total of three works, of which the third one also made me a stage actor. The music of these three stage plays is the one that I used to create this guitar. .

Yamada. Some songs are songs that have been added to the plot, with the lyrics and the actors to sing. Some are actors performing on the stage, and I am playing a guitar on the side. In that work, I also took a role, because that character just happened to play the guitar while singing, I took the guitar to speak lines, music and actors starred in this stage play. .
——Unfortunately, I can’t see this show in China, and I will try to see such a show in the future. Everyone in China first knew that Miss Yamada should be in the “Doomsday”, and then we asked some questions related to “Doomsday.” First of all, I would like to ask, what is the opportunity for you to participate in this work, not only singing the episode but also personally composing the music? .
YamadaAt the earliest, I was introduced to the producer of Kadokawa, who was also a member of the Kadokawa Bookstore. In fact, the projects of “Doomsday” and “Golden Gold” were simultaneously carried out, and I hope that I will create songs for these two works. The progress of “Doomsday” was first. The music at that time was confirmed to be created by Mr. Kato Tatsuya. The title song and the ending song also decided to sing the songs and singers. I joined the middle. I was thinking, then I want to What form to participate in this work? At that time, I had decided to put the first song “Scarborough Fair” in the play. Just missing a singer, I tried to cover the song. After the audience, I was very satisfied and decided. Let me bring this song together and arrange the singing of all the episodes in the play. .
Next is “Always in my heart”, Mr. Kato has already written this song. After all, this is the main theme of Dolly. There are several versions, one of which I hope I will fill in the English lyrics. And sing. After that, the production staff at the scene hoped that I would write a special episode for Duo Duoli, which is the “I call you” in the late stage of the story and the “Ever be my love” in the last words. It is composed by me as a word, and it is English. To put it simply, I first had Scarborough Fair, sang “Always in my heart”, and then I created “I call you” and “Ever be my love.” .
——When creating these animated songs, it is usually necessary to look at the original or animated scripts, right. .
Yamada. My words went to the original when I sang “Scarborough Fair”. I was thinking about the progress of the animation, but I have not heard of these situations. The creation of these songs must be based on the story. Although the music producer Saito (Zi) will also give me an outline and summary of the story, “Please create with this theme!” But I will study the original in order to understand the theme of this work. .
——When I sang “Always in my heart”, what kind of communication does the song with this song and the music of this work take on Mr. Kato Tatsuya? .
Yamada. Actually, I didn’t communicate with Kato. I also said the song of this song as the main theme of Dai Doli. Before I sang, Mr. Kato had already written several versions. I was only a word author. As long as I think about how to fill in the words, the main communication is between the music producers. Of course, I have a greeting with Mr. Kato, and I also met when I was recording. However, because of this “Always in my heart”, I hope that I can work with Mr. Kato afterwards, and I also exchanged ideas on music creation. My relationship with him is also good. .
——About the end of the ending song “Ever be my love”, this song appeared in the Dolly left the world, everyone back to everyday life. Yamada. Should not think of the mood of the audience, but when writing the lyrics of “Always in my heart”, I feel that I am a lover, if I am a lover, what will happen under such circumstances? Yamada. What kind of songs should be discussed in the theme song of the director’s edited version. I didn’t expect that even the three pieces of music would let me do it. This opportunity is really hard to come by. After all, “Golden Gold” is a work that has been in existence for so many years. It has a huge mass base and must create songs that everyone can accept. I still feel some pressure, but there is pressure to be motivated. The themes of these three works represent three different colors: red, yellow, and blue. I want to express them with songs. .
On the one hand, these theme songs mean the end of a stage, the beginning of a new stage and the next stage; on the other hand, these songs represent the mood of Xiaoyao and Zongjie, and the encounter between Xiaoyao and Zongjie. To the heart, the next road is very difficult, each with a sad and painful experience, but in the future there must be a bright future waiting for them, I also write these wishes for them, their respective feelings and strong consciousness In the song. ——How is the English version created? Have you thought about going out in English at the beginning? .
Yamada. Just started with the Japanese version. In the middle of the way, suddenly told me to come up with an English version. Then I will “try it” and start writing the English version. Compared with the Japanese version, the English version has more vocabulary. When I sing, I also feel that the time is basically not letting me catch my breath. It is very compact. I may not feel it when I write, but it is totally different. The pronunciation of English is of great difference from Japanese, but the meaning of the two versions can not be too much, so when replacing words, especially when choosing words, they have racked their brains. . English version is more complicated than the Japanese version, whether it is singing or writing. After writing, I will record a sample for each of the related parties.
