But the idea of a game designer can’t be realized out of thin air. Programmers will do these things: they will turn ideas into reality and create game systems in the game by implementing game features. This requires careful understanding of the function itself as well as code writing and implementation as planned. Today we are going to interview the game programmer Selim Çam, let us know how he is doing the battle in the hegemonic single mode

What do you usually do?
As a game programmer for the campaign team, my responsibilities include designing and implementing various features of the game, such as side missions, character traits, kingdom decisions, and bargaining systems. Some tasks require a meeting to discuss and design features, so I sometimes spend some time going to the meeting
When the game is decided, the code needs to be designed to determine and resolve how this works. I will try to make sure that this is in line with the game design and also meets our internal programming specifications. If we think this design is not feasible, we will try to modify the plan to find a better solution. Once I got to know the game design clearly, I started programming these features, which is what I am doing most of the time
On large projects, I will often discuss the code structure with our team leader and then exchange ideas to find better code
Also, one day, the test team feedbackd the bugs they encountered. If these things involve the battle and I am still available, I will fix these bugs to fix the problem. Sometimes this requires me to run back and forth between the test team and the campaign team’s office. I will be tired when I have more times, but I like this feeling of being busy!
What do you like most about “Riding and Killing 2”?
I really like the game to the player’s sandbox environment, allowing players to freely choose their own path, you can realize your dreams like being a king of admiration, or becoming a rich enemy
In the production process of “Riding and Killing 2”, what is the biggest difficulty you have solved so far?
In “Riding and Hacking 2”, we basically created a living medieval world where each unit has its own goals and tasks, moving from one stronghold to another, raids, buying and selling. Commodities, besieging what is doing everything you expect them to do. In this case, it is a terrible thing to track a bug with an unknown source. Moreover, due to uncertainty, the most troublesome mistakes are usually not very easy to fix
Once, the test team actually encountered a BUG of a caravan to attack the city… and it was still in the city. The caravans simply could not attack the city, and they should not have been attacking the city. This is illogical
Fortunately, we still have a way to fix this bug. But this is still simple. I remember looking for every force that might have gone wrong. I found it in a frame and frame to find out the problem. From the results, it is not difficult to repair, but it took a lot of time!
What are you doing right now?
My energy is now focused on the sub-system that we did before. More specifically, a baby grows up into a child and eventually becomes an adult, where they appear, and how the player interacts with them. In addition, I am still adjusting the bargaining function
Which of your favorite “horse riding and slashing 2” camp?
I am very cold with Paddania because they remind me of the Gauls, and I am a fan of Asterix (aka Asterix)
Are you currently dealing with a strange or funny BUG?
Of course! When the sub-system was loaded into the game, these ongoing functions turned some residents into fully armed children. It was funny to watch them walk around with little arms and shields and huge spears. Both my team and I are crazy
Is the whole game linear? How many free choices do we have to influence the game world?
For a medieval game that combines strategy and action role-playing elements, the campaign is as non-linear as possible. Players are free to move. The game won’t force you to take a fixed path. You can do whatever you want. If you don’t like to fight, then you can not buy a soldier, build an industry, send a caravan, and come up with a business-friendly policy. If you want to be a warrior more, you can organize a large army to conquer the whole country. You can also choose who to marry, and then how to keep your offspring and let your children inherit your legacy
Because there is no fixed way to play the game, each player can play their own unique game, this is our favorite horse riding and slashing series
