This year’s C3afa final main stage performance, invited BACK-ON and Malaysian female singer iris to form a stage of up to anime songs

First debut is a singer iris from Malaysia and then developed in Japan. Born in Malaysia, she knows many languages and greets the audience in Cantonese, Cantonese, Japanese, Malay, Mandarin and even Fujianese (Mandao). Iris said that his brother especially liked Japanese anime and Gundam, and looked at his brother to assemble different Gunpla. When I was invited to Japan, my brother didn’t react. He even said, “Would you go to a place where competition is so big?” It was very exciting until you knew that you sang the theme song, and shouted “You are amazing.” In the song section, Iris sang the Mandarin version of “Gundam Build Drivers” ED “Tomorrowへ”, which was also the first time to sing the song overseas. Then there is the theme song “Redだけが りない” of “Rebellious Lelouch I.” The remaining two ares “smallさな声” and “good bye” for the individual singles

The following is naturally known as BACK-ON. They debuted in 2002. They have gone through a lot of gatherings, including the lead singer KENJI03. . . . . . and the rapper T EEDA. . In addition to his own work, BACK-ON has created many popular theme songs for games, animations, and TV series

This time BACK-ON brought a live DJ, which has more song changes than the previous anime song stage. They first sang the song “Black Clown ~ Clown~” written in Mandarin, because the mother of the lead singer KENJI03 is a Taiwanese, so she can speak fluent Mandarin. After that, it was the crazy animation of the live anime fans. The songs after BACK-ON were:

Wimp ft. Lil’ Fang (from FAKY) “Gundam Build Fighter” OP2.

STRIKE BACK “FAIRY TAIL” OP2.

ニブンノイチ”gundam Build Fighter” OP.

セルリアン”gundam Build Fighter TRY” OP.

The Last One “Gundam Build Fighter TRY Island Wars” OP.

Finally, ending with the Chinese version of the song “Dream ~ Carry on ~ back on”, I believe that the audience will be able to perceive the infinite courage and blood of BACK-ON songs

After the stage performance, I was fortunate to have made this C3afa final interview in the background (it is really good to say that both groups of singers are fluent in Chinese).

Ask. : What do the two groups of singers think about the show that night?

KENJI03 : This is BACK-ON. We participated in the C3AFA Hong Kong performance for the first time. Thank you very much for this opportunity. We are very touched when we see so many people coming to see us, thank you

Iris : This is also my first time to come to Hong Kong to perform. Although I am a Malaysian who has been in Japan for 4 years, I am still just debuting in Japan. I am very happy to have the opportunity to participate in this Hong Kong C3AFA. I am very touched by the performance in front of the Hong Kong audience. Many thanks to everyone for giving me this opportunity

Ask. : This stage is also related to Gundam. Do you have a Gundam or series that you like?

TEEDA : Sure enough, I still like “Gundam Build Fighter” because the theme song is created by us

KENJI03 : The first time I watched it was “GundamSD”, which is my brother’s favorite Gundam. Of course, I also like “Gundam Build Fighter”, and also featured three Gunplas under the theme of BACK-ON

Iris : I used to assemble Gunpla with my brother, because most of them are more masculine models, so I like the smaller Gunpla

ask: Is there any special pressure or thanks when I hear that I want to compose for Gundam?

TEEDA : Actually, there is no special feeling. Both kenji and I are focused on understanding the story and creation of Gundam Build Fighter

KENJI03 : At the beginning of our orchestra, there was a dream to make the theme song of Gundam. So when we heard that we could create this, we couldn’t help but yell “Oh, yeah! Nice! Cool! So cool!”.

Iris : Actually, I am very excited to know that I can sing the Gundam theme song. Because I already know the existence of Gundam when I was a child, Gundam can be said to be a godly work for others. Therefore, I feel that I can sing Gundam’s ending songs. I feel that it is a surprise for me. It is very shocking and very moving

Ask. : When I sing different language songs, do you find it more difficult?

KENJI03 : We only started to write Chinese songs last year. At present, the most difficult thing I think is pronunciation?

TEEDA : In terms of Mandarin, it is more difficult to find rhymes based on Pinyin in Mandarin

Iris : Japanese is a big challenge for me. In fact, Japanese is more difficult for people whose native language is Chinese. Each recording takes a lot of time to correct, but the lyrics in the same song don’t change much, plus your own understanding of the song, hoping to convey the original intention of the song

Ask. : When creating a song from Gundam, will you refer to the songs of the past Gundam series?

TEEDA : I will find inspiration from the script or the character before the creation, and also from the songs of Mr. Nishikawa (Nishikawa Takashi) of T.M.Revolution

Iris :Because the songs of the previous Gundam series are biased towards animation or Rock style, this style is different from the style of “Tomorrowへ”, so we must try our best to communicate to the audience

Ask. : Which of the three anime songs do you want to cover?

KENJI03 : “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA” of “Dragon Ball Z”, because I like it since I was a child

TEEDA : I want to sing “バクチ・ダンサー” and “昙天” of DOES in “Gintama”

Iris : Because I like “Inuyasha” most, and many of them like it very much, I really want to cover it or Miss Ayumi Hamasaki’s “Dearest”.

Ask. : The market for Japanese anime songs is fierce. Is Iris worried about it?

Iris : Worry of course there are foreigners who develop different languages, cultures and ways of doing things in Japan. The understanding of music and entertainment is different from that of other Asian countries. Therefore, such as pop songs and anime songs, so I think it is a tough thing to sing anime songs. But even if it is difficult, I still want to try hard, after all, I really like anime and anime songs

Ask. : When creating Chinese songs, does KENJI teach TEEDA Mandarin?

KENJI03 : In Japan, I have taught him a little of Chinese, but most of the creations are TEEDA’s own reading and listening

Ask. :BACK-ON Have you heard the Cantonese version of “Gundam Build Fighter” OP? (“ニブンノイチ”, “セルリアン” was sung in “Hong Kong TVB” to “have you around” and “infinite”, the lead singer is Chen Guofeng. At first, I was spoiled by the treble and the unintelligible lyrics of the convention, but because the bloody songs of BACK-ON made the two Cantonese versions more and more brainwashing effects, the Hong Kong otaku gradually turned black.)

KENJI03: I have heard it before, but I don’t understand Cantonese very well, but my iPhone also has these two songs, and I feel very good
