After a year, I met with Mr. Cold Spring on ChinaJoy. After a year of development, the big family of Wanneng Nanmeng Palace (China) also added new members. It coincided with the recent release of “Mobile Suit Gundam NT” in mainland China. This is the first time that the series of movies has been officially displayed in the mainland of China. Q1 : Mr. Cold Spring is very happy to interview you again in ChinaJoy for one year. Compared with Wandan Nanmeng Palace (China) a year ago, there has been a huge change, especially Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) Amusement Co., Ltd. Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) Toys Co., Ltd. And Risheng (Shanghai) Brand Management Co., Ltd. Have been established one after another. Can you please tell us about these newly established companies?
A1 : In December 2017, Bandai Nanmeng Palace (China) Investment Co., Ltd. Was established as a group company in China; in February 2018, Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) Interactive Entertainment Co., Ltd. Was established; 2019 In January, Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) Toys Co., Ltd. Was established; in March 2019, Risheng (Shanghai) Brand Management Co., Ltd. Was established; in May 2019, Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) Amusement Co., Ltd. Was established. Bandai Nanmeng Palace (China) is the umbrella company and the four subsidiaries of the company. Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) is mainly engaged in IP and mobile game related business, cooperation with local partners, IP game development, and self-original IP business. Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) Toys Co., Ltd. Is mainly engaged in the planning and development of toy products for Chinese users; Bandai Nanmeng Palace (Shanghai) Amusement Co., Ltd. Is engaged in the business of downstream music facilities; and Risheng (Shanghai Brand Management Co., Ltd. Is responsible for the management of the IP of SUNRISE
Q2: Not long ago, the first film “Mobile Suit Gundam NT” released in mainland China was released, which is also a very landmark event, and will the future generation of Nanmeng Palace (China) promote more outstanding works? Introducing China?
A2: Bandai Nanmeng Group has a lot of IP, and there will definitely be a lot of works coming out in the future. But works like “Mobile Suit Gundam NT” will take a long time to make. We certainly hope to introduce more of these works to China and bring them to Chinese users, but it will take some time, so stay tuned. I also want to know which works Chinese users and fans want to see
Q3: Mr. Leng Quan, after the Group’s continuous expansion in China, what changes have it made in daily work compared with last year?
A3: I am the chairman of Bandai Nanmeng Palace (China) Investment Co., Ltd. Now the company has 4 subsidiaries, and of course there will be more companies in the future. Therefore, my current job is mainly to balance the existing four subsidiaries, to carry out overall management, and to maintain good communication with our employees on a daily basis
Q4:As a Japanese company, Mr. Leng Quan works with so many Chinese employees. For Chinese colleague Mr. Leng Quan, how do they feel different from their Japanese employees? Please also talk about your impression of Chinese colleagues
A4: In my opinion, both Chinese and Japanese employees are treated equally and are part of our Bandai Nanmengiya family. For the impression of Chinese employees, they are constantly growing and constantly looking forward, and they all like the company’s IP, goods and services
Q5: This year’s “Pokémon” and next year’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” these games IP are competing to be adapted into a live-action movie, “Mobile Suit Gundam” has also appeared in the “Top Player” gorgeous, last year also confirmed Shooting a live-action movie, how does Mr. Cold Spring views the game IP adaptation movie?
A5: IP Adapted into a live-action movie is also a direction of IP extension, not only fans of the original IP will like it, but also a group of fans who like movies
Q6: I saw the love of “Game of Thrones” on Mr. Cold Spring’s Facebook. How did Mr. Cold Spring views the final season’s ending, satisfied and dissatisfied?
A6: The ending of the final season may be different from the original, but as the “Game of Rights” production team, they must have their own ideas, and I respect the idea of this production team
Q7: Who is your favorite character in this work?
A7: Tilion.
Q8: Now, IP works like Disney, HBO and Netflix, which have been produced in the long-term, have become a trend in the global entertainment industry. How do you think about this trend?
A8: First of all, I believe that this industry is not an industry that everyone has to compete for “you die”. As I said earlier, the game “The Game of Rights” has many fans. For the production team of this work, they hope that this work can be seen by more fans and viewers. Fun, this is good for the production team, and for the fans, it is a win-win situation. In the past, movies were going to the cinema. TV episodes can only be watched through TV stations or on DVDs. But now with the development of technology, everyone can watch their favorite works through the Internet. This is a very happy thing
Q9: Mr. Cold Spring should be a movie fan. For your opinion, how would you choose if you recommend three movies?
A9: This is really difficult. I have seen at least 10,000 movies at the moment, and it is very difficult to pick out three favorite ones from tens of thousands of works. Here, I might recommend three movies that have been influential or memorable to me since I was a child: “Godfather”, “Star Wars”, “Godzilla”
